Hey everyone,
Hope you are all good and you’ve been enjoying your weekends, wherever you happen to be.
We’re back with you today to share another small collection of some interesting bits and pieces we’ve been looking into and discovering of late. There’s news of releases and repressings, previously unseen old photos, archive show footage, and more. It’s been a couple of weeks since we’ve put one of these together as things were a little quieter earlier in the month in terms of things to share, but suddenly it feels like there’s lots to shout about - such is the nature of these things.
As always we hope you enjoy all of this, and if there is something you particularly want to share here or with you can reply to this email or get us at Molina@secretlycanadian.com.
All the best,
S&D x

Elsewhere in release news, Songs Ohia's 'Live: Vanquishers' is now available as a digital release across streaming services and digital stores wherever you choose to listen.
First released in 2022 and until now a physical-only release available exclusively through Static & Distance and Secretly Society, 'Live: Vanquishers' is a live album recorded in Tilburg, Netherlands on October 9th, 2000, capturing a classic Songs: Ohia lineup on great form during a long run through Europe.

A big thank you to Ding Prud'homme for sharing these amazing photos of Magnolia Electric Co. at Buskirk Chumley, Bloomington IN, October 2008.
Tomorrow will mark 16 years to the day since this show, however until very recently these photographs had never been shared with anyone.
Glen Hansard has been opening his shows with ‘Farewell Transmission’ recently, including at a stadium show with Pearl Jam at Fenway Park which also included this visual tribute to Jason.

Here’s some additional footage via Emalee Hallow of Glen covering the track at his Chicago show on September 28th:
Earlier in the month we enjoyed watching through this Magnolia Electric Co. Bloomington show from 20 years ago back in 2004 via Songs: Ohia Video Archive.
“I managed to get around 41 minutes before my battery died. A local public access film crew recorded the entire show. The concert was booked for 9/30 but they must have gone on after midnight which is why the time stamp says: Oct 1 2004.”
