Hey everyone,
Hope you’re all doing well out there.
A new update for you today! Some unseen tour images, a teenager in New Zealand capturing his discovery of Jason’s music, an impressive tape archive and just something that made us laugh.
As ever, hope you enjoy and please do get in touch on molina@secretlycanadian.com if there’s anything you’d like us to share here.
All the best,
S&D

Vanquishers
This week, Sunday to be exact, marks 22 years since Songs: Ohia performed in Tilburg, NL on their European tour. That night was captured for the Live: Vanquishers album 🖤

A Sonic Youth
All the way from Hamilton, New Zealand we have 18 year old Oliver Grey who runs a weekly show tracking his exploration of music. Oliver recently dedicated two shows to Jason and his music - one delving into Magnolia Electric Co and one into Songs: Ohia. Two great listens.
With thanks to Oliver's Dad Phil for sending us this!

An archive
This recently appeared on Instagram courtesy of Thomas Heath - a real authority on Jason’s music and career.
This is Thomas’ collection of live, unreleased sessions, demos, interviews and other miscellaneous cassettes, DVD’s and CD’s. A pretty incredible collection!
We’re fairly certain there’s some stuff here even we haven’t heard…

Records with googly eyes
Finally, and for no other reason than it made us laugh, we spotted this from the endlessly entertaining Instagram account ‘recordswithgooglyeyes’
Any chance Thomas Health will be working with y'all to distribute some of those unheard recordings with us here in the future?
