Hey everyone,
Today we're launching a new regular feature for all subscribers of Static & Distance where we’ll share a bit of an update on some things we think you’ll enjoy from what we have lovingly come to know as ‘The Molinaverse’
Expect photos, covers, stories and other interesting bits relating to Jason and those in his wider musical orbit.
We would also love to hear from you for this - Static & Distance was envisioned as a fan community and we feel this is a great way of living up to that idea.
If you have something you want to share with a big group of people, brought together by Jason’s music, this is the place. So please hit us up with anything! Covers, stories, photos, tattoos, poems, fan art - really anything.
You can reply to this email or get us at Molina@secretlycanadian.com
Anyway, here is the first one…

Sylvie Cover ‘Hold On Magnolia’ for SC25
LA band Sylvie (featuring Drug Dealer’s Benjamin Schwab with Marina Allen and Sam Burto) have shared a cover of Hold On Magnolia as part of the SC25 anniversary singles series from Secretly Canadian.
Sylvie's Benjamin Schwab says "We tried our best to give the song a Sylvie treatment, changing the arrangement and cadence of melody, while still trying to keep the magical feeling from the original.”
SC25 is raising funds for 'New Hope For Families' - an organisation working to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty in Bloomington, Indiana

We’ve also just discovered this episode of the Essential Tremors podcast from March 2019 with Guy Picciotto of Fugazi / Rights of Spring, featuring a brilliant Jason story as well as Guy’s argument for why Ghost Tropic is Jason’s greatest album. (Conversation starts around 38 minutes)
