'For Lounge Ax' - Demo Tape

Signing off for 2022 with eight new demos
6

Hey everyone,

We’re signing off for 2022 today but rounding out the year with some cheerful holiday listening for you…

Today we have a whole demo tape from the Secretly archive for you to get stuck into. We believe this was recorded at home by Jason to give to Lounge Ax in Chicago to release on CD, likely around the time of The Lounge Ax Defence & Relocation CD - Though some fact-checking is required there.

Either way, the Lounge Ax was something Jason felt strongly about and it’s honoured here in these songs and this tape.

With that, we’re going to take a little rest for a few weeks before returning in the new year - we’ve got some exciting plans for next year already… Jason Evans Groth has been compiling an increasingly massive accounting of the various prank wars between Magnolia and touring companions to share with you all, we have more music to share, some vinyl planned and of course MECo (the album) turns 20 years old in March… so stay tuned on that.

Thank you all for subscribing and supporting S&D this year - we really hope it's been a positive and rewarding thing for you to be a part of.

Enjoy the next few weeks, however you spend them, take care, and we’ll be back soon.

Happy holidays,

S&D

The Archive Tapes
Jason left over 300 tapes in the Molina archive at Secretly and we've long been trying to figure out the best way to share some of this collected work.
This music was recorded throughout Jason's life and career and we hope will be something you all enjoying experiencing.
We will be sharing music from these archives periodically through Static & Distance.
This doesn't mean the end of JM releases on DSP's or through vinyl but this is a space where we can share these raw, intimate recordings with Jason's fans.
